Services & Holy Days

Sunday 10 AM - Join Us! Click To Join the Zoom Worship

In their season, we celebrate with a variety of special worship services. Keep an eye on the calendar for service times, updates and changes.

Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday begins the forty days of reflection and repentance before Easter.  We receive the ashes on our foreheads and remember that our life on this earth is temporary, but God offers us new life and grace that is everlasting.

Lent
During Lent we often gather for a supper of soup and bread.  Following that, we share in a simple worship service.  The Lenten season occurs between Ash Wednesday and Easter commemorating the 40 days that Jesus prayed and fasted in the wilderness.

Holy Week (Holy Week stretches from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday.)

Palm Sunday - gathering outside, we reenact Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, waving palm branches and singing, in a parade around the parking lot and processing into the sanctuary.  We share in a congregational reading of the Passion story.

Maundy Thursday - we share in the Lord’s Supper, participate in voluntary foot-washing, and remember Jesus’ commandment to love one another.

Good Friday - we remember how our Savior Jesus died on the cross to give us new life.

Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday we celebrate with music and fresh flowers to signify the new life that we all share because Jesus is risen! An Easter Breakfast may follow.

Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving Eve we sometimes celebrate with other churches in the area to give thanks to God for God’s gifts all year long.  Keep an eye on the calendar for more information about when and where this year’s celebration will be held.

Advent
During December we often come together for a simple supper of soup and bread. Following that, we share in a brief service of worship and song, the Holden Evening Prayer.

Christmas Eve
We gather for a candlelight festival worship and Carol Mass.  We sing all the classic carols in joy at our Savior’s Birth.

Healing Services
Whenever a month has five Sundays, we celebrate on the fifth Sunday with a healing service.  Our prayers and hymns are focused on healing in mind, body, and spirit.  There is special time for anointing, lighting a candle in prayer.
