In their season, we celebrate with special worship services.
We gather at 7 p.m. on Ash Wednesday to begin the forty days of reflection and repentance before Easter. We receive the ashes on our foreheads and remember that our life on this earth is temporary, but God offers us new life and grace that is everlasting.
We come together on Wednesday evenings at 6 pm for a simple supper of soup and bread. At 7 p.m. we share in a simple worship service. The Lenten season occurs between Ash Wednesday and Easter commemorating the 40 days that Jesus prayed and fasted in the wilderness.
Holy Week ( Holy Week stretches from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday. )
On Palm Sunday we gather for worship at our regularly scheduled time. Gathering outside, we reenact Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem, waving palm branches and singing, in a parade around the parking lot and processing into the sanctuary. We share in a congregational reading of the Passion story.
Maundy Thursday worship begins at 7 p.m. We share in the Lord’s Supper, participate in voluntary foot-washing, and remember Jesus’ commandment to love one another.
On Good Friday we gather at 7 p.m. to share in solemn worship, remembering how our Savior Jesus died on the cross to give us new life.
Easter Sunday: Festival Worship at 10 a.m. with special music from the choir. Bring fresh flowers to place upon the cross to signify the new life that we all share because Jesus is risen! Easter Breakfast is served at 9 a.m..
Thanksgiving Eve we gather with other churches in the area to give thanks to God for God’s gifts all year long. Check back here for more information about when and where this year’s celebration will be held.
During December we come together on Wednesday evenings at 6 p.m. for a simple supper of soup and bread. At 7 p.m. we share in a brief service of worship and song, Holden Evening Prayer.
We gather at 10 p.m. for candlelight festival worship and Carol Mass. We sing all the classic carols in joy at our Savior’s Birth.
Occasionally on Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. we have a healing service. Our prayers and hymns are focused on healing in mind, body, and spirit. There is special time for anointing, lighting a candle in prayer,
